This venue’s 70mm presentations history is included in the recently-published article “70mm Presentations in Halifax: A Chronology of 70mm Large Format Exhibition, 1982-Present”.
A 70mm projector and six-track Dolby Stereo sound capabilities were installed in 1982: a re-release of “Raiders of the Lost Ark” starting on March 12th of that year was the first 70mm print shown.
The first film shown here was “The Lion in Winter”.
