Opened in the 1921, the Jewel Theater was a neighborhood theater located by Whittier Boulevard and Indiana Street.
By 1957 it was operated by Aladdin Enterprises. Closed in the 1960’s, it was best known for its familiar neon jewel on the marquee.

Ruben’s Garment Cutting currently resides at 3817 Whittier Boulevard.
There was a Jewel Theater in Tujunga in the 1920’s, according to this photo from the Oviatt Library Digital Collection.

I used to go inside this building back in 80s funny the stage and seats were stile there… And when they were demolishing the other side of this building there was a big painting of the coke cola sing on the side of the jewel theater i always remember the sing
