Located on the corner of Santa Cruz Avenue and Doyle Street. The Menlo Theatre was a small downtown theatre with state of the art projectors. Built brand new and opening on April 9, 1969 with Maggie Smith in “The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie”. It was operated by Walter Reade Theatres.

The picture above was not the Menlo Theatre.it was located one block west of ElCamino Real in a building that was once occupied by the B of A ,which is currently across the street.

The Address is correct , but the picture was of a house . The monthly movie schedule posted above is from 1939 when the Guild theatre was known as the Menlo Theatre
If this house was originally operated by Walter Reade Theatres it must not have been opened until the 1960s. I believe that’s when that east coast chain first expanded into the California market.
As our Street View is currently set to the wrong location, here is a corrected view until it gets fixed. Now housing a restaurant, the building does indeed look like a former Bank of America branch, probably from the 1940s. They had a distinctive style.
And as ppetitclerc notes, the theater schedule currently on display above belongs on the Guild Theatre page. The Guild was called the Menlo Theatre until it was rebuilt and renamed in 1947.
An issue of the San Mateo Times from April, 1969 made reference to the “…newly opened Menlo Theater in Menlo Park….”
