Photograph taken 1938 of the auditorium which was carried out by Mollo & Egan. Between 1935 and 1939 Architect David Nye engaged Eugene Mollo to design ten of his fifteen cinema interiors, the County Marlow was to be Mollo’s seventh. Possibilly Mollo & Egan finest work for Nye was their next two cinemas the Embassy Fareham and Rex Berkhamsted. Eugene Mollo’s last design his tenth for Embassy Bridgend would have been even better had not WW2 cut the expenditure for the Bridgend contract, and so the most outstanding proscenium frieze that was completed at Bridgend was to be Mollo & Egan’s swan song.
