The County Cinema was opened on 14th January 1938 with Anna Neagle in “Victoria the Great”. It was built for the County Cinemas chain. The cinema was set back from the road with a forecourt in front. Seating was provided for 490 in the stalls and 258 in the circle. There was a small stage, but no dressing rooms.
The County Cinemas chain was taken over by the Oscar Deutsch chain of Odeon Theatres Ltd. in September 1939, and the County Cinema was re-named Odeon on 4th February 1941.
Taken over by an independent operator on 22nd March 1959, it was re-named Regal Cinema. The Regal Cinema was closed on 24th March 1985 and was demolished later in 1985. Offices named Regal House were built on the site.

The Birmingham Exhibitor Was BT Davis and K Jones Snr. at the same time they bought Regal Henley on Thames Will load Pictures when I can find where my mother put them for saftey
I have found the pictures of the two Theatres. I have just put them on.. When We took over these theatres They were given a complete makeover by Modernisation Ltd., Including New Tabs, Screen, masking, Seats in the Circle Stalls refurbished Carpets Pay Box and Kiosk and re-wired.
Forgot 1979 B T Davis intended to twin Marlow but died before in could be done.
