So mall management at the time felt making this place a dollar show would attract the “wrong quality of people”? Sounds like they should have taken action against UA Theaters for building this place the way they did, because that was the real reason this theater attracted NO people!!! I went there once back in 1991 to see The Rocketeer (should make Logan 5 happy) and found dirty carpet, corrugated metal walls, and noises (people knocking against the metal walls, mostly) that interfered with watching the movie. Hard to believe a somewhat upscale place like Brea Mall would allow such a lousy theater to be built.

Used to see “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” here back in 1980/1981.

First theatre I was a manager at. Creepy theatre to open first thing in the morning.
I just remember how sub par the equipment was here. 2 mono houses, 1 dolby surrond ( not digital) and a kintech. Seemed like once a week the tech was out helping us with something. Best thing was the deals we had with some of the mall stores doing trade outs. Also for a while there was talk about making this a discount house only to be shot down because the mall felt it would attract the wrong quality of people. In the end Edwards Brea killed both this theatre and the marketplace across the street.
