Opened as the Highland Drive-In in August 1952. By 1955 it was operated by Odeon Theatre (Canada) Ltd. Changed names to the Hyland Drive-In in 1965 and became the Odeon Drive-In in the mid-1970’s.
In the early-1990’s Empire Theatres took over operations and it became the Empire Drive-In. Car capacity is listed at 504 and the drive-in featured first run attractions until it closed in 2013.
In April 2023 it reopened as the Shoebox Drive-In.

This theatre was closed in 2013, now slated for redevelopment by Empire.
The Highland Drive-In Was Still In Operation In The Mid-1950’s, The Highland Drive-In My Best Guess Was Opened Sometime In 1950 And It Is Operated By Odeon Garson Theatres. It Was At The Time The Jubilee Drive-In Near Stellarton Was Still In Operational After Its Opening In 1951.
This actually appears to have re-opened because its currently operational, its now called Shoebox Drive-in. Website address is https://www.shoeboxdrivein.ca/ and the approximate address is 159 Truro Rd, Westville.
On the Shoebox’s Facebook page, from when it reopened in the summer of 2020 until January 2023, its photos show the Highland name (as does the Facebook URL itself). It apparently changed its name to Shoebox by April 2023.
