Opened on April 9, 1952.
It actually opened to the public on April 10, 1952 according to the front page of the Caldwell Watchman, with Fred Astaire in “Royal Wedding” in technicolor with no selected short subjects being its first attraction. Maybe it had a formal opening on the 9th, but I don’t know yet.
A closer address is 7180 US-165, Columbia, LA.
This puts it right next to the entrance road, which is now Chase Street.
The drive-in was demolished and completely gone by 1983. Today, the east half of the property is a Doller General. The west half an open field with no trace of the drive-in remaining.
