The Plaza Movieplex 9 was operated by Cinema North Corporation, opening on May 19, 1995. It was taken over by Flagship Cinemas on December 17, 2009. Flagship Cinemas, with headquarters just outside Boston, Massachusetts is a privately held company in business since 1995. Flagship currently owns and operates 103 screens in 11 theatres throughout Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Florida.
Flagship theatres feature stadium seating, digital surround sound and a comfortable atmosphere. We pride ourselves on being known as the “neighborhood theatre” that offers quality entertainment for families and businesses within the communities we serve. We offer a free movie on your birthday (with proper ID) and our Film Fanatic card rewards frequent moviegoers with free movies at most locations (visit your local Flagship theatre for details). Gift certificates and discount VIP tickets are available at most locations. Our theatres are also available for group rentals and birthday parties.
As part of our commitment to giving back to the communities in which we reside, Flagship Cinemas focuses its charitable contribution efforts on children and families. Our business provides quality entertainment to children and families everywhere and we echo this focus in our philanthropic efforts within the community. It was closed on March 16,2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It was announced in June 2021 that the closure would be permanent.

This opened as the Plaza Movieplex on May 19th, 1995. It closed in October 2009 and reopened by Flagship Theatres on December 17th, 2009 after some upgrades.
Flagship closed its location in Rutland on March 16, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The theatre subsequently disconnected its phone and the circuit decided to make the closure permanent in 2021.
