The Wonderland Theatre dated back to nickleodeon days and was opened January 21, 1911, and was owned by Ms. M.R. Johnson. It was a ‘reverse’ theatre as the screen was located at the street entrance end of the auditorium. In 1935 it was remodeled in an Art Deco style by architect Joseph R. Koberling and renamed State Theatre, and was closed prior to 1941.
It had reopened by 1943, and continued to operate until at least 1950.
