Cinemas 1 & 2 opened as a twin on November 16, 1984 with Steve Martin in “All of Me” & Sally Field in “Places in the Heart”. It expanded to 3-screens in 1985. The St. George Cinemas 6 opened in 1990. Refurbished on December 19, 2004, with stadium seating listed at 1,390-seats. Westates Theatres had spent $500,000 upgrading the theatre while still remaining open. The upgrade also included digital sound, new projection and other amenities.
The theatre was operated by Westates Theatres featuring first run attractions. By 2016 it had been taken over by Megaplex Theatres and renamed Main Street Theatres. It was closed on March 17, 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It never reopened as a movie theatre.
In 2024 it reopened as performing arts campus.

Opened as the Cinemas 1 & 2 on November 16, 1984 with “All Of Me” in Screen 1 and “Places In The Heart” in Screen 2. It expanded to three screens in 1985 followed by six screens in 1990.
The Main Street Theatres closed for the final time on March 17, 2020 because of COVID and has never reopened afterward, and was last operated by Megaplex Theatres. The former theater was converted into a performing arts campus in 2024.
