The Koko Marina 1 & 2 opened July 6, 1984 with Burt Reynolds in “Cannonball Run II”. It became the Koko Marina Stadium 8 on October 1, 1999. It was located in the Koko Marina Center. It was closed on July 30, 2023.

Nice example of the classic American multiplex. I saw some gems here in the past. When you walk in here you could be entering a theatre anywhere USA. That’s not a knock.
This opened as a twin on July 6th, 1984 and enlarged or relocated within the mall with 8 screens on October 1st, 1999. Consolidated also reopened the IMAX Waikiki on the same day. Both ads can be found in the photo section.
I lived in Hawaii Kai from July 2002 – July 2005 with my wife and our then-young son and we saw plenty of movies here, but the one that stands out the most was the The Two Towers (the 2nd Lord of the Rings film), because our son was SO into it and my mother was visiting from the mainland.
