Reel Cinemas--Dubai Mall

The Reel Cinemas-Dubai Mall is a megaplex with 22 screens in Dubai and is the joint venture between Singapore’s Cathay Organisation Holdings Ltd. and Dubai’s Emaar Retail LLC. The cinema is on Level 2 of the Dubai Mall on Financial Centre Road (Doha Road). It opened to business on 14th August, 2009 with ten screens initially. The opening films at the cinema included “Funny People”, “G.I. Joe” and “My Sister’s Keeper”.

The 100-seat Picturehouse of the Reel Cinemas–Dubai Mall opened on 23rd November, 2009 with “Paper Heart”. The remaining screens including the four Platinum Suites opened afterwards in 2009. The cinema has the UAE’s first THX-certified cinema and two halls with digital and 3D cinema capability. It boasted to have state of the art equipment, wider aisles and greater distance from the screen to the first row of seats.
