Located in the south-west Adelaide suburb of Glenelg. Built as a dance hall, the Palais Theatre was opened on 24th January 1922. On 8th July 1927 it was re-named Strand Theatre Strand Theatre. On 9th December 1956 it was re-named Orion Theatre. On 16th March 1957 it was re-named Odeon Theatre 70 but this was short lived as it closed on 27th May 1967. It was re-opened as the Village Glenelg on 1st June 1967 and closed on 13th September 1980..

Opened as the Palais Royal Dance Hall(circa 1920). Renovated(or demolished?) and reopened as the Palais Theatre on 24/1/1922. Renamed The Strand on 8/7/1927. Renamed The Orion on 19/12/1956.Renamed the Odeon Cinema 70 on 16/3/1967 and closed on 27/5/1967 . Reopened as Viilage Glenelg on 1/6/1967 and closed on 13/9/1980.

The building is now a jewelery store(Adelaide Exchange Jewellers) and a noodle bar(Indochine), a cafe and restaurant(The Strand), a seafood restaurant and grill(Cardones), and a billard hall(Chalkers Eightball Centre).
