Located in the inner-east Adelaide suburb of Norwood at the corner of The Parade and Queen Street. The original entrance was on The Parade. The Star Theatre was operated by the D. Clifford Theatres/Star Theatres circuit by 1946. It was later taken over by Greater Union Cinemas and re-named Odeon Theatre.
Since closing as a cinema, it re-opened in 1986 as a live theatre, specializing in childrens productions, with the entrance moved around the corner onto Queen Street, with the original entrance/foyer now a restaurant.

Remembner it well. Dad worked for Hoyts theatres. As ‘the opposition’s’ theatre, we only attended when a movie we particularly wanted to see was showing there.
The restaurant is called Ivy.
