This is AMC’s second Clearwater location, with the first being the Clearwater 4 (later the Clearwater 5) being located at the Clearwater Mall which AMC operated it throughout its history from September 1972 Until October 2000.

This was my first theatre job. Worked from ‘97 until we closed in October 2000. I started the last film to ever run there and also bought the last ticket sold. If you do an image such the first photo you will see of the theatre was taken as I shut the lights off and locked the doors…on the last night. I am the white and black blur to the right of the box office. I miss that place.

I think I remember coming here in June 2000 to see “Chicken Run”.

Cobb is building a NEW 12 screen theater attached to the mall near this location. Obviously Cobb understands the NON-NECESSITY of over screening the area.. If I remember correctly signs said opening Summer 2012,

Wish my picture weren’t so damn blurry. Sometimes, especially with gyms, I don’t want to go up and start snapping pictures lest somebody come out and get paranoid and start yelling at me.

Unless “JAWS” topped it.

Countryside 6 played “Star Wars” for 39 weeks during 1977-78, the second-longest run of that film in the Tampa Bay region and third-longest in all of Florida. I would imagine it also is the longest run of any film ever to play in Clearwater.

Was about the closest theaters to my folks place and I never took in a flick.

More info and photos are always welcome.
