The Alma Theatre was built in 1952 as a single screen seating 503. Initially it was owned by the May Family who operated the theatre until 1980.
In 1980 Landmark Theatres took over operations of the theatre and converted it to a three screen operation. Seating is listed at 373, #1 208, #2 78 and #3 86. By 1990 the theatre was back under the May Theatres who operates it showing first run attractions.
