This theatre was a conversion of an old drug store building. It opened on September 28, 2001. In July 2026 it was announced that the Mt. Shasta Cinema would be closing on August 16, 2026.

This can’t be right. I thought old cinemas were turned into drug stores, not the other way around. Next you’ll tell me they tore down Wal-Mart to build a drive-in!!

Closure has been announced. The theatre’s final day will be 8/16/2026.
