The Fox Olympus Drive-In was opened by National General Theatres on June 21, 1967 with the Walt Disney animated movie “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” & “Boy and the Eagle”. Fox Intermountain Theatres owned this 1,056 car drive-in. Cost to build the Olympus Drive-In was set at $500,000 and was the largest drive-in in the Intermountain area at the time. This was a replacement for the Oak Hills Drive-In that was demolished for a new subdivision.
The drive-in was surrounded by an 8ft. high cedar fence and had four entrance lanes to allow easy and fast access from the busy streets. The screen was listed at 50 ft. by 100 ft. Projection was located in the center of the lot and included a modern snack bar. The Olympus Drive-In was open year round.
The Olympus Drive-In closed in 1982 and was later demolished.

PLEASE CHANGE ADDRESS TO:
EAST 5600 SOUTH & VINE STREET
5600 South 900 East is about 1/3 mile too far East. Somewhere it is mentioned that the Drive-In was accross the Street from the Murray City Cemetery and somewhere else I found an address of 5600 and Vine and it all matches up. Now an apartment complex.
Owners:
1967-1973 National General Theaters & Fox-Intermontain Midwest Theaters
!973-1982 Mann Theaters Corporation of California
More info and photos are always welcome.
Judging by the sign on the right of the above photo, the drive-in is also called Fox Olympus Drive-in.
A more accurate address for this theater is 820 E 5400 S, Murray, UT 84107. Now Murray Self Storage. This points directly to the entrance road. The drive in itself was located SW of this closer to S. Vine St. The apartment complex SW of the storage facility is where the theater stood.
Please update.
