The State Theatre was opened by Miners Theatres on March 8, 1949 with “Don’t Trust Your Husband”. The single screen theatre had seating listed at 800. The theatre was twinned on May 16, 1979 and was four screens from June 1994. By 1960 it was part of the Marcus Theatres chain. In its last years it became a dinner & movie theatre.
The State Cinema 4 closed in 2009 leaving Menonomie with the Cine Magic Stadium 7 as the only movie theatre.
After being closed for more than a year, the State Cinema 4 was reopened in March 2010. It was closed in 2014. By early-2019 it was in use as a church.

This was converted to a dinner theatre shortly after Cine Magic 7 opened and stayed in business about 3 years after that. One of the former employees and remodeling it a bit. I haven’t been to Menonomonie for a few months but had heard it was suppose to reopen in Oct but I don’t know if it did or not.

Closed in 2014. No showtimes as well as the office website pointing away from this theatre.
Google Streetview of July 2018 shows this theatre is now functioning as the River of Life church. The current website for the church lists their address as “At the State Theatre”.
Expanded to four screens in June 1994.
