Looks like a new company, Golden Ticket Cinemas, is remodeling this theatre and planning a grand opening on December 15, 2017.

So this means Lenoir will not have a first-run movie theater after the Westgate’s closing. Will Carmike Cinemas planning to built another theater in it’s place? Question for Don Carver. E-mail at

The Carmike Westgate Twin in Lenoir, North Carolina closed November 28, 2014. The News-Topic published an article about the theater’s closure:

The Carmike Westgate Twin theater on Morganton Boulevard in Lenoir closed for good Friday, according to employees who were there packing boxes and loading them into trucks.

:

Rob Rinderman, a spokesman for Carmike Cinemas, said the company’s lease on the property expired. Carmike had “nothing bad to say about that market in Lenoir,” but it was purely a business decision, he said.

This is currently Carmike’s smallest theater in North Carolina. The next smallest Carmike Cinema in North Carolina is the Carmike Cinema 6 in Havelock.
