Located in Sonora, CA, the Uptown Theatre was located on S. Washington Street, and always had good double feature such as "Joe Kidd" and "Silent Running" playing together on December 1, 1972. Like so many small town theatres they ran a lot of kid shows on Saturdays.

Thanks maybe i read the ad wrong.I did see an ANGELS CAMP THEATRE in that city, but i thought it might have been the Uptown Theatre renamed like so many are during the years of operation,Chuck 1231. So i did not want to submit it.
This item from the “Theater Construction” column of the May 31, 1938, issue of The Film Daily must have been about the Uptown Theatre:
An item in the June, 1938, issue of The Architect & Engineer of California said that Frederick W. Quandt had drawn the plans for a theater being built at Sonora, California, for the Harvey Amusement Company. The Uptown Theatre can be partly seen in this photo of a 1961 parade.
