The Southland Cinema was opened a single screen theater on April 15, 1970. It had 624 seats. It was then expanded to four and later to seven screens. Regal took over management as of 1994 and then closed the theater on December 5, 2010. It was reopened by Republic Theatres in September 2012 and renamed Marion Center Cinema.

The Southland’s screen-count history as described in the intro fails to account for the period of time when it was a twin.
