The Cinema 4 was opened on December 10, 1982 as a Stewart-Everett theatre located in Rock Hill, S.C. It became a 7-screen theatre on June 5, 1987. It was later operated by Carmike. Since early 2017 it has been taken over by AMC.

It was closed in March 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It was announced in August 2020 that the closure would be permanent.

There was a separate Cinema that Stewart & Everett ran before opening this theatre. There are some instances in the Rock Hill Herald where both theatre are operating at the same time. I think this opened as a 4-screen.

Stewart & Everett had three theaters in Rock Hill. The Pix, The Cinema and The Cinema 4. This theater opened as the Cinema 4 in the late 70’s or early 80’s.

Just got word that AMC will not reopen this theater.

This opened as Cinema 4 on December 10th, 1982, by Stewart & Everett theatres. The Modular cinema from 1970 is a separate building and listed elsewhere at CT Cinema 4 openingCinema 4 opening 10 Dec 1982, Fri The Herald (Rock Hill, South Carolina) Newspapers.com
