The Lincoln Airdome, as the name suggests, was an early outdoor theater, one of at least two such theaters in 1920’s St. Petersburg. Both the name and location suggest that this may have been a theater for black audiences. It opened in 1927 and closed a few years later. Any trace of the theater that might have stuck around was completely obliterated in the late-1970’s/early-1980’s with the construction of Interstate 175.
