The Drive-In was opened July 3, 1947 with car capacity listed at 500. It was originally owned by Theatrical Management but by 1955 it was operated by Y & W Theatres. The Muncie Drive-In closed September 1, 1986 with Robin Williams in “Club Paradise” & Goldie Hawn in “Wildcats”. It has since been demolished. The area is now retail space.

PLEASE CHANGE ADDRESS TO:

5800 WEST KILGORE AVENUE

5518 is not correct, if you look at the Map, behind 5800 you can still see the remains of the Drive-In in the lawn.

Y. & W. Management Corp., of Indianapolias, Vern R. Young, President & Treasurer, had 17 theaters all in Indiana in 1967, including the Muncie Drive-In.

Could use more photos.

Marquee is still in use for Kilgore Plaza.
