The Royal Twin was opened on May 2, 1975 with Michael Sarrazin in “The Reincarnation of Peter Proud” & Michael York in “The Four Musketeers”. Each screen had 416-seats. Later in the 1970’s a third screen was added and it became Cinemas 1,2,3 operating as a first run theatre, located at Chesnee Highway and I-585. In July 1983 it expanded to 5-screens. It became a second run theatre on March 3, 1985. It was closed in the early-2010’s.

It is and is now a church. I just uploaded a picture I took today. It was still operational back in 2006, but is no longer open as a theater.

The Royal Twin Theatre opened its doors on May 2, 1975 with “The Reincarnation Of Peter Proud” in Screen 1 and “The Four Musketeers” in Screen 2, featuring an original capacity of 832 seats (416 seats inside both auditoriums). A third screen was added later in the 1970s, and expanded to five screens in July 1983.
