The Twin Dolphins Cinemas opened on January 24, 1973. I found advertisements for this theater while researching another. A November 15, 1976 advertisement listed "One Chance to Win" (Cinema I) and "Harry and Walter Go to New York" (Cinema II) as the current features.

That Hartman Rd address must be the owners house. Google returns this address on 35 North as the location of the closed theater. Makes 100% more sense for a theater.
Now showing up as the local Port Lavaca / Calhoun Chamber of Commerce offices.

I THINK the Port Lavaca-Calhoun Chamber is using the building the theater was in, can anyone verify that?
Anyone have more info or photos?
The building that Google lists is actually the Bauer Community Center. I don’t think it has ever been a theater, but I’m not certain. The older theater for the town is located on Main Street, and is used for performances now.
Twin Dolphins is actually located further south on the Highway (Approx. 140 Texas 35). It is still operational, and has been since there for as long as I can remember (at least 30 years).

The Twin Dolphins doesn’t have its own web site, but it is open. Their phone number is (361) 552-6764.
Here is an article that talks about the theater in depth. I really enjoy going here. http://movies.yahoo.com/news/twin-dolphin-cinema-port-lavacas-own-movie-theater-212600805.html
I just added a Google Street View screen capture and called this theater. It is open as of 8/20/14 and showing the new Teenage Ninja Turtles remake. I first went here on vacation in the mid-80s with dad and brother to see Rambo II. Great memories.
Here’s a newspaper ad from 1977:
