The Hillcrest Twin Theatre was opened on December 10, 1971 with Burt Lancaster in “Lawman” & Mark Lester in “Black Beauty”. It was one of the first twin theatres in the region. Spartanburg’s Hillcrest Twin Theatres would serve this city for many years, playing blockbusters such as "Jaws" and many 007 movies. In 1981 a third screen was added and it was renamed Hillcrest Theatres, operated by Roth Theatres.
The Hillcrest Mall was bankrupt in 1992 and this forced the theatre to close. It was demolished on March 31, 1993.

Was in the Hillcrest Shopping Center, Featuring ULTRA-VISION, The New Concept in Motion Picture Persentation. You’ll See and Feel the Difference.
Because it opened as a Twin, on the first day, “All Twins Admitted Free”.
The first two movies had Burt Lancaster in LAWMAN and Mark Lester in BLACK BEAUTY.

“LAWMAN” was a dang good movie from one of my favorites Burt Lancaster thanks for that info. Irvin-Fuller ran the Carolinas.
it was an ULTRA VISION THEATRE. Jan 2 1972 sees in theatre number one “LADY AND THE TRAMP” and theatre number two has 007 “DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER”.
Nov.2 1979 “STARTING OVER” was playing and in the other theatre was “SKATETOWN USA”.
Jan 5, 1980 playing is “STAR TREK” and “MOUNTAIN FAMILY ROBINSON” Both G-rated films.
