The Temple Theatre was located on E. Main Street, just west of Washington Street in downtown Perry. The large brick Masonic lodge building had three floors and sat next to the First National Bank/Bank of Perry building. The bank building is still there, but the Masonic lodge has been reduced in size. The Temple Theatre was opened in 1922 and was damaged by fire in 1949 and suffered further damage in a 1976 fire.

The Temple Theatre in Perry, Florida, was mentioned in the July 22, 1922, issue of the Universal Studios house organ, Universal Weekly.
I’m pretty sure that the building on the theater’s site is the old Masonic Lodge, but its two upper floors have been lopped off. If the auditorium was on the ground floor, it must still be there in some form.
According to the book, “815 West Bay” by local historian Mary Lou Whitfield –
“The Masonic Temple was erected in 1921, with the ground floor used by the Temple Theater. The second floor was used by doctor’s offices and other businesses. The Mason’s were on the third floor. A fire in 1945 and another in 1976 caused destruction one floor at a time so today it is a one-story structure housing Masonic-related activities.”
According to its article about the May 19, 1976 blaze that destroyed the Temple Theatre, a smaller fire causing a reconstruction occur in 1949, not 1945.
