The Star Cinema opened in the centre of Cebu City on 1st October 1950. The building has a stone front, with a central section above the entrance, designed with wood framed lattice windows. The foyer walls were paneled in wood native to the islands. Inside the auditorium, seating was provided in orchestra and balcony levels and was decorated in a Moderne style.
