The old Pahala Theatre I would think is no more. October 2006 from the Ka Pepa Pahala newspaper Vol 4, Number 12 this story:"The sides of the Pahala Theatre have fallen down and the main roof has fallen in. The County of Hawaii has posted a no trespassing and danger sign and has asked the owners to take care of the situation. Sandra Lei Johnson, head of the art department of Ka'u High School is now painting a beautiful picture of the theatre on canvas.

thanks Chuck, I couldn’t tell where the theatre was with those Hawaiiian names.I guess I was close. The Theatre looking at the picture I have from the newspaper, looks to hsve been built in the 30’s or 40’s.
Thanks again, its a sad looking picture from the paper there.
Mike; With all the time I’ve spent in Hawaii I still have trouble with Hawaiian words. I think it’s because it only uses 12 letters in it’s alphabet and seems to use a lot of vowels.
Naalehu is the SOUTHERMOST TOWN in the 50 States.
