The map marker for this one is at least a hundred miles too far east.

everything remains including the concession stand and marquee wouldn’t be hard to get this one reopened!

The Panhandle Drive-In launched May 12, 1954 with Gig Young in “Arena” and Janet Leigh in “Fearless Fagan.”

Motion Picture Herald, Jan. 30, 1954: “The Panhandle drive-in, Kimball, Neb., is being readied to open May 1. With a 250-car capacity, the drive-in is being built by the Panhandle Theatre Corp., composed of Kimball business men.”

A more accurate address for this theater is 4840 Rd 39, Kimball, NE 69145. This points directly to the entrance road. The screen is still up. Most ramps are still visible.

Anthony,Here you go. The Panhandle Drive-in parked 260 cars and was owned by Panhandle Theatre Corp.
