In Acworth, Georgia, west of Atlanta and actually in Metro Atlanta, was the Lakes Drive-In. It was certainly well named because of all the man-made lakes in Acworth.
It was under construction in 1954 and opened in 1955, when it was operated by Cecil Hudson. It was closed in the 1960’s.

Open 1955-1961?
500 autos?
Need an address, more info, photos.
It was located at Hudson Drive at Cove St per aerial photo at http://www.historicaerials.com/
Entrance off of Hudson Drive, bordered by Cove St & Wood St. Appears in the 1955 and 1960 photos but gone by 1972.
thanks guys for adding the extra info.
Judging by the 1955 photo, approx. address for this drive-in was 4980 Lakewood Drive. What is now Hudson was the entrance. What is now Cove was the rear of the theatre and the exit.
Lakes Drive-in was owned by Cecil Hudson. Entrance was basically as detailed by jwmovies comment (Lakewood/Wood St/Hudson Dr intersection). Movie Screen paralleled and was adjacent to Hudson (dirt road at the time as was Cove St). Also, Mr. Hudson also ran the Legion Theater in downtown Acworth in the 1950s.
Found one reference to it as the Between the Lakes Drive-In. Uploaded a photo. Hudson preferred to be called “Red”. Sure beats Cecil.
A closer address is 4606 Hudson Dr, Acworth, GA.
This is the entrance by the screen as seen in the 1955, 1956, and 1960 aerials. By 1968, the drive-in had been demolished where it was overgrown with trees by 1981.
By 1988, a housing edition was put in and today there is no trace of the drive-in.
