A closer address is 5335 C'Board Way, Thomson, GA.

The drive-in appears intact and operational in a 1955 aerial. But by 1971 the drive-in had been demolished.

Today, the drive-in is mostly an empty field with some areas overgrown with trees. However, you can just barely make out some of the ramps.

I thought you might still see the foundation.it has been years but when i do pass it i always look over where the MELODY proudly stood. Thanks, Bob for at least thinking about.I wish locals there knew and cared enough to get on CT.Plenty of stories I know.

Mike, thanks for the info, I found the Sonic, at 226 East Hill Street and just down the road a bit the junction of 17 and 78. I went east on the Google Satellite for a distance, but found no sign of the remains of a drive-in, so sad.

To help you more on the crossroad of 17 and 78 there was a Sonic Drive-in Restrauant on the side of the road the Melody was on heading East.Just a few blocks pass the Sonic that is where the Melody stood. Thomson also has a Downtown Twin theatre on main st.Called the New Martin.

Best I can do without a Thomson city map would the cross roads of state highway 17 and intresects with 278/78 going out of Thomson what is left of the Melody would be on the right side of the road.Last time i drove by there and its been years since Thomson is about 30 miles away where i live, you see the foundation of the booth/concession. they use to sell mobile Homes on the lot.

Mike, can you give an address or a crossroad, I’d like to Google Map a Photo of the drive-in site, if possible.

I wish i had more and really didn’t realize Thomson had a Drive-in until one day i noticed the foundation and it looked like it might have been a Drive-in Theatre.Sure enough, once i found the Bulldozed screen i had it pay dirt. When i found the 1956 motion Picture almanac i found Thomson and that had to be the Melody, unless another expert on here says different and boy, i have found out there are some experts on CT which is not a bad thing.
