The Elder Theatre opened its doors on March 27, 1939 as a replacement of the nearby Gem Theatre, launching with Mickey Rooney in “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” (unknown if extras added). It was closed in March 1963 after a large fire severely damaged the building and was demolished afterward.

It was located on 109 E Raleigh St, Siler City, NC 27344.
