The Mary Pickford Theater opened its doors on May 25, 2001. It was named after the famed silent film actress "Mary Pickford". The theater had a Mary Pickford Museum in the lobby. The museum displayed several items including an Oscar won by "Americas Sweetheart" Unfortunately, by spring of 2018 the museum items had been removed at the request of the Pickford family.
The Mary Pickford Theater was operated by North American Cinemas, then SR Entertainment until 2011 when Ultrastar Cinemas took over. By 2016 it was operated by D'Place Entertainment.

Interesting CWalczac,I did not know that.
Yes,I had no idea she was from Canada.
Notice in the below Cinema Tour Site that the street listed is:
EAST CIVIC CENTER DRIVE
and the town is:
CATHEDRAL CITY??
The address number is exactly the same, so I think the 19 photos are for this theater. What do you think?
Notice the outside signs just say, PICKFORD THEATER.

Well, the Pickfair address above is the one for the theater according to the SR Theaters website. The theater is built along one edge of what amounts to a modern take on a town square; a Cathedral City municipal building is almost adjacent to the theater. It is possible that the segment of the drive that runs in front of the theater may have been renamed Pickfair from Civic Center Drive. Having been there, I can assure you that the pictures are indeed of the Pickford Theater.
(Cathedral City, a part of the Greater Palm Springs area, does not really have any real religious significance per se; it was named for Cathedral Canyon, which somewhat resembles a cathedral).
The above link to the theatre’s website doesn’t work. Here’s the proper link: View link
UltraStar Cinemas took over management from SR Entertainment sometime in 2011, of both the Mary Pickford 14 and the Desert IMAX across the parking lot. Information is at their official website: ultrastarmovies.com
As of 2016, it appears that D'Place Entertainment is currently managing the theater.
8-page opening section, largest ad ever for a cinema in the valley.

Something about North American Cinemas.

Also, an grand opening ad in the photo section.
I was told by the theatre today, May 08, 2018, that the Mary Pickford memorabilia has been removed by her family. If possible you may want to update the description of this theatre as the only reason I went back for a second time was because I found your website stating these items were there. Thank you!
Have any of Mary Pickford or Charles(Bubby) Rogers movies ever been screened here?
