Also known as the Camelot 1 & 2 and the Camelot Twin
Closed in 1995 as a discount theatre under Carmike.
I managed this theatre for only 4 months in 1987, theatre #1’s screen was curved, and the curtains opened and closed for every show. Cineplex Odeon also ran the Deerfield at Surfside Beach, for I ran ads for both locations.
The only movie I saw there was “The Living Daylights” in 1987. The #1 auditorium had a curved screen and Dolby Stereo. Stereo was a big deal for Myrtle Beach at the time. It is now a restaurant complex.
By 1977 this was a triplex.
Strange thing is I want to think his name was RAYMOND or RICHARD,but i can’t remember. He was a great guy.like most Theatre guys.
I worked for ABC THEATRES in Augusta,and got to know a manager in that town and he put me and another ABC THEATRE employee up for a couple of days to save on Hotel rates.
This is one of the ABC THEATRES in this town.I am pretty sure there was another and it was lucky enough i think to have played “JAWS” first run.
