The Ace Theatre was located on Congress Street at N. Lawrence Street. The theatre was open in 1943. It was operated by King Theatres. This was an African-American theatre. Seating was listed at 500 seats.
The theatre closed in 1971 and is still standing but usage unknown.

There are plans under way for possible restoration of the old Ace Theater as part of a larger effort to celebrate the African American culture that once thrived in that area. Probably won’t be a theater again but may become an event site or cultural center.
