This opened on December 19th, 1986. Grand opening ad in the photo section.
Well that’s another cab fare money down to the drain and I was this close to go to this theater and now the place is officially closed on January 18,2016
I didn’t know this theater had closed recently. Another one from my childhood bites the dust. I saw a lot of movies here with friends, most throughout high school and college.
This is the link to a newspaper article about the closing of the theater. Says that the last day of operation isn January 18th, 2016.

Yes, at some point, the theater will close and be demolished to make way for an Audi dealership. The theater chain still has it’s lease to sub lease out. Google for full news stories on it…
Correction, so this movie theater is going be close down soon ?
This theater is closing soon. They are proposing construction of an Audi dealership on this property with the ttheater to be demolished. The town of Mout Pleasant has it under review.
Vito, just for you I cobbled an opening blurb on this theater from an article in the business of the New York Times. Article also went on to say that the 50 year lease on the property cost 20 million. 50 years is quite a long time the way theater properties are disposed of when they are outdated 18-20 years later. For this property you have the Greenburg Multiplex which isn’t all that far away. And when you look at reviews for the theater they gripe about old seats, small screens, sticky floors, roaches and bed bugs.
Hi Mark, yes I did move around a lot mostly putting out fires and training MDs. I have worked just abut every NA theatre in LI,NY and NJ. I opened a few of em as well.
Retired now but keep in touch with many of the boys.
Hello my dear friend vito. Hope all is well. I have a question…where haven’t you been a managing director. You must know the in’s and out’s of just about every National Amusements theatre in New Jersey, New York, Long Island etc. Anyway, I hope you are doing well, and I couldn’t resist busting your chops a bit. Take care.
I was Managing Director there for about 3 years if anyone has any questions
