Colwyn Bay,

Little is known about this former Baptist Chapel which was purchased by Arthur Cheetham and converted into a cinema which opened in 1908, and was one of the first to be licenced in North Wales under the Cinematograph Act of 1909. It was by all accounts pretty basic, but Cheetham, ever the showman, made a virtue of this in his advertising. Thus the lack of carpets and wall drapes was advertised as "Making the venue free from the breeding grounds of germs", pointing out that Colwyn Bay was known primarily as a health resort and this fitted in with this.
The venue was destroyed by fire in May 1915 and was demolished.
