The Star Way Drive-In was opened in 1955 by Stellings-Gossett Theatres. Car capacity listed at 700. Sterwart & Everett Theatres took over in 1961.

The drive-in closed in 1985 and is now the Star Way Flea Market.

yes,Chuck. i have it parking 700 cars and owned by Exhib.Service. In 1956.

With a new projector and screen, Starway looks like it could easily show movies again if the owner wanted to. Everything is still in tact and the land is still nicely graded it seems. Looks like a lot of residential nearby now though that might take offense, but still business zoned.

My father was the projectionist at the Starway in the early 80’s. I cut the grass on that lot with a push mower as a kid. Lot’s of fond memories… The Skyway was across the street and it was the local XXX drive-in. I remember when the movie Alien was released. We all watched it at the Skyway before it played at Starway.
