Built for Harry Ward, the Wardona Cinema opened on 21st March 1938 with Shirley Temple in "Wee Willie Winkie". All seating was on a single floor, and the proscenium was 28 feet wide.
In the late-1950’s it was re-named Savoy Cinema and was closed in 1963. It was converted into an independent bingo club, and in recent years has been in use as the Savoy Snooker Club which closed in 2015. In 2017 it is a pottery shop named China Chaps..

The Snooker ended by 2015 and the building has been altered to suit a shop known as China Chaps. Not a Chinese restaurant but pottery!
I have placed an early picture of the Cinema on now.
