The Capitol Cinema on Mill Hill Broadway was an independent cinema. It was unusual as the entrance was at the screen end, as this followed the slope of the adjacent road. The interior was Art Deco. My parents liked this cinema. There was a plan to convert it into a local art centre cum theatre, but the local politicians would not back this.
