A 1953 aerial shows the drive-in operational and the area in the back cleared for the second screen as mentioned by warrior515, but empty.

Still present in a 1966 aerial, but totally gone by 1973 as it was replaced by a large warehouse.

There is a noticeable growth of grass along some of the ramps from 1964 to 1966. This may indicate that the drive-in was no longer operational, but it was still intact so it may have closed at a later date.

This drive-in did not post any ads before Aug 31, 1955, in the Houston Chronicle and Post.

I worked in the concession stand at the HI NABOR Drive-in Theater when I was 15 years old,you simply would not believe the fun we had in that place,VERY GOOD MEMORIES!!

PS-Originally the HI HABOR was going to be two screen theater but the second screen was never built,it remained a huge weed filled lot behind the concession stand, the configuration would have two screens facing each other with the concession stand in the middle, that’s why the concession stand was at the very back of the lot.

My source was the 1956 MOTION PICTURE ALMANAC that i found in the trash at the Miller theatre. I knew this book would come in handy. Any more HOUSTON area DRIVE-in needed let me know .

Bob, here is a little bit of info for you on the HI-NABOR DRIVE-IN .
IN 1956 IT HELD 750 CARS AND WAS owned by the OSCAR KORN CIRCUIT.
