Located in the north London district of Holloway, in the narrow Bowman’s Place at the rear of shops on the Holloway Road, just to the north of Nags Head Corner with Seven Sisters Road. The Ideal Cinema was opened on 27th November 1912. It was briefly re-named Globe Cinema in 1913, then went back to its original name.
On 23rd December 1917, an advertisement appeared in the local newspaper announcing that the ‘Ideal Cinema would be closed for repairs to the flooring and would re-open shortly with a grand All Star Programme’. This never happened and by 1921, it had been converted into a warehouse. Later it became an Ever Ready battery factory and was later demolished to provide better rear access to the shops on Holloway Road.
