Kam Ming Theatre

The Tai On Theatre was situated in Sai Wan Ho on the Hong Kong Island.
The theatre was a neighbourhood theatre and its 646-seat stalls only auditorium was on the ground floor of the theatre section of a residential building. It opened to business on 20th December, 1968, and showed Chinese dialect films until it re-named as Kam Ming Theatre on 23rd December, 1976. Kam Ming is the Cantonese pronunciation of its Chinese name, literally meaning golden brightness.

Kam Ming Theatre also showed Chinese dialect films until its last few years when adult films were shown. The theatre closed in the second half of 1995, and the auditorium has been converted into a restaurant.
