Now Southern Wesleyan University. Approx. address for this drive-in was 802 East Martintown Road.
Still think all of these should listed under Augusta,too.
Ithink summer of 78.remembered as mentioned in older posts going there and walking over the old site before it was leveled.Found one old One sheet,“Catlow” and that was it.
Does anyone know exactly when this one closed?

August 1 1977 now showing DAY AND DATE with MASTERS 4,“DAY OF THE ANIMALS” and at the HILLTOP only second hit is PAUL NEWMAN in “BUFFALO BILL AND THE INDIANS” a very strange double feature.
Yeah, It was a most beautiful Drive-in. I have a whole stack of Tickets never used from the HILLTOP.Found them the other day.Still has the string on them.
I know what you mean. I can’t help but think about the Hilltop every time I go over to North Augusta.
Saw the Office building there the other day and the Old Hilltop looked a lot prettier.

Punky’s Ponies was a local business that let kids ride small ponies.They set up at the Hilltop one night for the “kiddies” I rode Punky’s ponies when I was a kid.

You’re right Mike. I didn’t post a comment about the Hilltop. Some great titles above….I love looking at them….they remind me of previews of coming attractions! I remember “Midnight Cowboy” and “Alice’s Restaurant” also played as a double feature in Tampa at various theatres once their first-run engagements played out. “Gone with the West”…..I’ve never heard of that one. Wonder if it even played the Tampa market. I love the horror titles! Mike do you really think Georgia Theatres would have stooped so low as to take an ax to the booth once they closed the theatre? If they did that’s pathetic.
I remember seeing “TALES FROM THE CRYPT” at the Imperial when the old box office lady at the MILLER wouldn’t let me in to see “THE GODFATHER” under age.Funny how you remember stuff. “ASYLUM” was another good feature.PG and scary, Not slashing parts off like they feel they have to do in today’s Horror films.
Nov. 1 1974,day before my birthday and the HILLTOP is playing an all night Horror Fest with: “TERROR IN THE WAX MUSEUM”, “ASYLUM”, “TALES FROM THE CRYPT"and "THE HOUSE THAT DRIPPED BLOOD” all rated PG. Starts at 7:00 pm.
Yeah, that was GEORGIA theatres policy. I love my state,BUT i HATE Georgia Theatres.
Mike LOEWS did the same thing when it closed to LOEWS CRESCENT they tore out the screen 45 footer it was and took all the projection equiptment somewhere else,but it was theirs.The last Manager there told me that they did not wanting someone else opening it back up,although MARTIN THEATRES did run it as THE CRESCENT for about 2 more years and shut down for good.Downtown theatres were on the way out.
