According to rare photos posted by J. Schehrer on the informative site below, the Electric Theatre dated back to at least 1917. Looks as if this cinema was originally from the nickelodeon period, judging from an arched entranceway and no overhead marquee.
Any further material you can provide on the Electric Theatre will be most appreciated!

Commerce population for 1922 was listed as 2,555, more than enough to support two cinemas.
I was once told by William Landis (whose family owned Landis Mining Car Manufacturing Co.) that movies were not popular amoungst mining communities. After working twelve-hour shifts underground, six days a week, miners preferred outdoor entertainment, such as baseball, rodeos, swimming, hunting, fishing, etc.
After carefull study of that vintage photo of the Electric Theatre, then perusing modern street views of Commerce, it looks as if the old cinema no longer stands. See what you think!

Commerce, OK, was hometown to #7 Micky Mantle of New York Yankees Baseball fame. There is a bronze statue of Micky near the high school baseball diamond.
