Nabor Theatre ... Little Rock Arkansas

The Nabor Theatre was opened August 27, 1946 with Janet Blair in “Tars and Spars”. It was built at a cost of over $70,000 for the Kirby Theatre Corporation. The Art Deco style house seated 587 on a stadium plan, with a raised section at the rear for African-American patrons. The theatre was located on Wright Avenue at Marshall Street.

No time line was given for the closing but the building now houses the Islamic Center.

This opened on August 27th, 1946. Grand opening ad in the photo section. That raised section in the theatre was for the Afro-Americans with hard-back seats.
